Windows 7 and windows 8 operating system have many cool features. One of the cool features is changing desktop background image one by one in an activated windows theme. Windows 7 and 8 comes with two or three such themes as a default. We can download more themes from Microsoft official site
These themes come with many feature like changing time between pictures, sound, color etc. and of course nice pictures. We can also create these type of themes with our favorite pictures and settings. This post will help you to create such themes for your desktop and also you can share these with others.
Create a folder on the desktop with a name whatever you want. For this tutorial folder name is “Customized_Theme”. Collect all the pictures inside the folder. Go to desktop and “Right click” and select “Personalize”.
A window will pop up. Click “Desktop Background”.
Click “Browse” button in the Picture location line.
“Browse for Folder” window will pop up. Go to “Desktop” through this window, select the folder and press “OK” button.
It will load all the pictures inside the “Desktop Background”. Set the options available in “Picture position:” & “Change picture every:”, if you want and then click “save changes”.
Theme will be created with name as “Unsaved Theme” under “My Themes” option.
To change the name of unsaved theme, click “Save theme” link.
A small window will pop up to name the theme. Just write the name as you like and click “save” to save it.
Finally the theme will appear with specified name under “My Themes” section.
Theme has been created but if you want to use it in future or want to share it with others then you have to save the theme file on the computer. For this purpose “Right click” on the theme and select “Save theme for sharing”.
A window will pop up for location to save the theme. So locate the place where you want to save it & click “save” to save the theme. In this tutorial I have saved the file inside documents folder.
